So far, I have no complaints. I can see that this toy might not work well for some combinations of dogs and people, but for my two current dogs (blue heeler and small terrier), this thing, plus the treat mold, is GREAT!I love that the dogs get it more or less fully emptied, and it is washable. I love that I can pre-prepare a whole bunch of frozen fillings by using the treat mold (sold separately).Yes, I agree that this is a very expensive item, especially if you buy the treat mold along with the toy. I bought two toys at a very reduced price on Prime day, also bought the treat mold at full price, and consider the combined purchase a great value at this cost. The current price (for the toy) is comparable to the cost of an extra-large Toppl, and I’ve seen it at a price similar to the current cost of a large Toppl. I checked the current price of the XXL “extreme” Kong I needed to use for one dog, and the current price on a different web site is almost the same as the Woof Pupsicle. To answer questions and issues I’ve seen mentioned…* My terrier weighs 16 pounds and uses the large toy with no problem. Possibly it is minimally less thoroughly cleaned out, but I’m not positive about that. My only warning would be that you ought to keep track of calories and/or what you put in it because you could potentially give a small dog way too many empty calories from “junk food.”* The toy is still usable without the treat mold. Just fill up the solid half of the toy and stick it in the freezer overnight, same as you would do with a Kong, except it takes up less space.* Do introduce it properly, by initially giving it with NON-frozen and sticky food in it. An even more slow, careful, step-wise introduction may be necessary if your dog is a destructo-dog.* The terrier takes about 20 minutes to empty it of frozen canned dog food. That’s non-trivial, and I’m not sure why people are complaining. The heeler takes less time (maybe 15 minutes?), but it’s still an amount of time that is helpful for me, and this licking activity seems to be especially calming for her (as compared to using the food puzzle toys with kibble).* It initially was extremely difficult to open and close the thing. I was best able to do it with a “light” touch, not pulling and making sure not to press the two surfaces together. After not very long, it became much easier. I didn’t need to use oil. If you have trouble getting it closed, it became a lot easier after the solid part was frozen (while the vented part stayed at room temperature).* I agree with others that a larger version might be nice, but a larger version might make dogs more likely to destroy the toy in place of emptying it by focused licking.* I’m not sure that any of these toys are truly indestructible. People are mentioning Kongs. Well, my Kongs have required periodic replacement. They have tooth marks and eventually get “modified” to where pieces might get torn off and consumed. For one dog, I had to upgrade to the XXL-size Extreme (black) version, and she also put tooth marks in that.I own a fortune’s worth of Kongs, Toppls, and a couple similar food toys, and they all have their issues. They have holes in them that allow liquid to immediately come out (before freezing occurs). They are bulky and use up a lot of space in the freezer, and the unusual shapes make them non-stackable. For me, Kong toys are time-consuming to fill and difficult to clean. My dogs couldn’t get the very end cleaned out without throwing the Kong around (making a big mess), and even then it wasn’t fully clean. Some did end up with mold in that part of them. [It looks like new inventions, like plugs (or something like that), may solve some of the problems; I didn’t have those.]I mention the other toys only to say that this unique brilliant toy has seeming solved all those problems, and my dogs truly LOVE this toy as well. Be assured, I will update this review if anything changes.

My Siberian huskies love Woof Pupsicles. It’s their favorite treat toy after their daily walks, and keeps them occupied and blissfully happy for a good 30-40 minutes. That said, I have a love/hate relationship with this product, because it has two noteworthy flaws:1. I have yet to find any Pupsicle recipes for non-frozen treat balls like the ones Woof sells. With two dogs, buying the Woof treats get so expensive (~$2400 a year) that it’s hard to give them to my dogs every day, as much as I want to. Woof publishes recipes for frozen treats, but they fail to give their customers any guidance on how to make non-frozen Pupsicle treats like the ones they sell. The Woof online community hasn’t figured it out yet either.2. The lids on the rubber cases are often insanely difficult to unscrew once my dogs are done with their treats. God help you if you leave one sitting for a couple of hours or overnight. I’ve tried buttering and oiling the threads as Woof suggests, with mixed results. Sometimes the cases open without too much effort, and other times, they’re stuck solid and impossible to budge. I’ve resorted to freezing the cases, running them under hot and cold water, banging them with a hammer and using a wrench on them (no joke) and it still takes an eternity to pry them loose. It’s frustrating enough to make me want to set them on fire in the backyard and call it a day. I’m a strong man, and it takes all my strength and several minutes of cursing like Ralphie’s father in A Christmas Story to get the rubber cases open much of the time. I can imagine many people would find it impossible. If you can’t get a case open, it becomes unusable and the only recourse you have left is to throw it in the trash. This aspect of the product design is so infuriating, especially because the company knows its a major problem, and hasn’t come up with a solution to address it.

My husky grows tired of toys and treats very easily. I froze some chicken broth for him that he has enjoyed at room temperature in the past and popped it in the pupsicle. He couldn’t have cared less and I had to take it out and placed it in his bowl only for it to melt and be ignored. I worried that he didn’t want to take the time to try to get to the treat and that maybe that extra effort turned him off to the broth and the pupsicle toy entirely. It turns out that he is just picky. I also bought the pb&j birthday cake flavored pupsicle treats and I didn’t expect much because he is not a big fan of most sweet treats. I tried offering him one without the pupsicle cage and he went nuts for it.So today I tried popping one into the pupsicle and his eyes grew wide and he played with the toy for about an hour trying to get to the treat. Which is far longer than the advertised 20 minutes that it was supposed to keep him entertained for and far longer than the 15 minutes that I expected it to last for! At the hour mark the treat had shrunken so much that he gave up and just laid next to the pupsicle. So I opened it up, cut up the treat and put the pieces into a ronghouse treat log. He played with it for a minute but quickly grew tired of that as well.Putting a second pb&j birthday treat in the pupsicle cage has him excited all over again. I hope that this lasts as he gets bored of new toys and treats pretty quickly. But I feel like we have a winner with the birthday pb&j treat. He rarely gets so excited for a treat that isn’t cheese so I will likely be purchasing the pb&j birthday cake treats even after he eventually grows tired of the pupsicle toy. The toy itself is a very cute pastel blue, a color that he can actually see which must make the toy more noticeable to him.The top screws on and off with ease and while his long fur did stick to the toy they came off with ease. I was worried that I would have to scrub it under water but no I was able to wipe all of the fur off with a damp towel with ease. Plus the toy has a good amount of weight to it and it stands up to his chewing very well. He did no real damage to it despite being a heavy chewer. All he was able to do was leave some pinpricks in the surface of the toy. The top easily screws and unscrews with no real amount of effort. Which is great for people with hand and wrist issues. My dog has no idea how to open it and it seems as if there is no risk of him opening the pupsicle cage on his own. I highly recommend this toy for anyone who has a dog that needs more stimulation in their lives. It is a well made quality item that is worth every penny.

First ImpressionsI bought the Pupsicle for our new rescue dog who was very nervous whenever we had to leave the house. Right out of the box it felt sturdy and well-made, and I liked that it wasn’t just another cheap chew toy.⸻Setup & Ease of UseI went with the premade treat inserts to start, which made it super simple — just pop one in and hand it over. It’s also dishwasher-safe, which is a huge win for me since I don’t want to deal with scrubbing peanut butter out of toys.⸻Performance in Real LifeShe loves it. The Pupsicle has kept her occupied and calm, which has really helped her acclimate to her new home. Instead of pacing or whining when we leave, she settles down with this toy and stays busy.⸻Pros & ConsPros:• Helps reduce anxiety for nervous dogs• Very durable and solid• Easy to clean (dishwasher safe)• Premade inserts make it effortlessCons:• On the heavier side, so probably best for medium+ dogs• Inserts are convenient but add a little extra cost⸻Who It’s ForPerfect for new dog owners, rescues, or anyone with a dog who needs a healthy distraction when left alone.⸻Final VerdictThe Pupsicle has made a noticeable difference for our rescue pup. It’s durable, easy to use, and has genuinely helped her feel more at ease in her new environment. Highly recommend.

Bought this after much internal debate (pricey item for a dog toy, and my pup is affectionately known as ‘the Destroyer’, so…). I tried less expensive versions first, but their cavities were too big for a small dog treat. I bought just the toy, without the little silicone treat tray, because those are very overpriced for what they are. The toy is really expensive already, so that just seemed additionally problematic. And still, I rated this five stars. Why? Because I just washed it and let it dry, and opened up my freezer, where there lives an ice cube tray with little hexagonal cubes (much cheaper than buying the custom treat tray, and I already had it for my dog for her homemade ice cream), and put one cube of peanut butter frozen yogurt into the Woof. It fit perfectly.Normally, to let my dog enjoy her pup cream, I have to set it out and let it soften out of her reach for a good hour or two; if it’s frozen when I give it to her, she tends to pick it up from the bowl, set it down on my dark-stained hardwood floor, and lick/chase it all over the floor, resulting in yogurt streaks that are very difficult to get out. (Not cool, girl. Not cool.)With this little gizmo, I am able to hand it to her straight from the freezer. No mess, no fuss; she licks the whole thing right out, bit by bit, extending her enjoyment time and making no mess whatsoever. It’s a miracle, really. And I don’t have to plan ahead that way, to give her the treats I made for her.Why not a cheaper version? Well, she’s only 16 lbs. She shouldn’t have the ginormous cavity kind, and that’s all I found from the few kinds I ordered first. I finally gave in here and bought the Woof, in the small dog version, and it holds my frozen treats perfectly in the size I want her to enjoy. Also, this one is made of a firm but gentle silicone; if my little destroyer starts chewing, she won’t break a tooth. Some of the cheaper ones I ordered before were hard plastic, too hard to be safe. This one is easy to clean, can go in the dishwasher on the upper rack (I never use heat dry, but this is silicone, so it would prob be ok if you did).It is a good size, so she could hold it between her paws. But if she’s eating it on a blanket in her bed, she doesn’t even bother to hold it, and the weight of it keeps it sitting upright. I thought it was too big and bulky when I first saw it, but it really isn’t, for a frozen treat.Caveats: I would NEVER use this for kibble for her. Why? Small dog kibble would just fall out the middle. No fun there. I could consider using it for bigger treats, but I have better toys for those (Kong toys are awesome for this). You could just add peanut butter and freeze this thing, but have to make sure portion size is appropriate; it holds a lot more than you want the dog to get in one go.It’s perfect for puppy ice cream, though. I make peanut butter out of unsalted dry roasted peanuts, then add full fat Greek yogurt, and blend. Or I do strawberries with Greek yogurt. Blend and freeze in mold of choice that fits this thing, and you’re good to go. Some people freeze directly in the toy, and that’s cool; doesn’t work as well for something I make in batches, though, but would be fine for a smear of peanut butter or canned pumpkin puree as a treat. (As a matter of fact, I’m going to make her pumpkin ice cream for my next batch.)My dog seems really pleased by her special frosty treat. Considering we hit over 90 degrees today, in May, I think this is something we really need for her this summer… and my hardwood floors are safe again, thank goodness!!!If this were less pricey, I’d buy some more to share with her best puppy pals… they love the ice cream when they come over, and they’re messy about it, too!So yeah, it would be ideal if it didn’t cost so much, but it is a great toy.

If you have a puppy and don’t own one of these, you are missing out on peace and quiet! Your puppy needs this, but so do you! With my 4-month-old Golden Retriever, I couldn’t love this thing more. I got the Large size for him knowing it wouldn’t take long for him to grow, and it’s perfect. This is the quality of toy every home needs for their dog. The pupsicles plop right in and fit perfectly. I also bought the re-usable make-your-own pupsicle tray and those fit perfectly into this as well. I do frozen ones for summer days on the porch. I also love how it doesn’t make a mess. Highly recommend!

These are awesome! My dogs love them and keep them occupied for 30-60 mins so I can make and enjoy my coffee in peace before work. They are very easy to clean, but as others have mentioned, they can get stuck. I had to take a pliers to get one of them unscrewed. Hopefully that’s not a constant issue. I do wish they were more durable since there were a lot of teeth marks in them after the first use, so I upgraded to the black super chewer one. I’m happy I gave these a try and feel they are worth the money, especially for high energy dogs who get bored easily.

Got this as a gotcha day gift for our dog after seeing some reviews including Wirecutter, and we’re pretty happy with it. Really does keep our dog preoccupied for a good 40 minutes. Unclear how long the toy will last though, he quickly left some tooth marks on it and I wouldn’t want him swallowing the material. There are also reviews that say its difficult to open, I would agree, but it just takes a little patience. I ran it under hot water for 30 seconds, and it became looser. I do like that it’s easy to clean in the dishwasher, but again, I question if we’ll still have this toy in 6 months.

These things have saved my sanity! I have two dogs and we use these at least two to three times per week. They are high quality and last thru heavy chewers. We spread peanut butter inside for a quick treat when clipping nails, or make our own mix of Greek yogurt, dry oatmeal, diced carrots, a little pumpkin, and a bit of diced apple, mix it up and freeze it in the Pupsicle mold. That way we have a bunch ready to go and aren’t buying expensive refills. The colors are adorable, the pupsicle is durable, and the dogs LOVE them. FYI – it’s a good idea to use a little olive or avalado oil on the threads when closing them up – it makes life so much easier when screwing then on and off. We throw ours into the dishwasher.

Of all the treat toys I’ve tried, this one succeeds the best to calm my dog when I leave for a few hours, and it takes him the longest time to consume the food I make for him ~ usually a mix of cooked chicken, PB, pumpkin purée, and whatever else I have ~ like blueberries or leftover veggies. I bought the mold to form these balls. I started with the dark green medium ball, but eventually I could not unscrew it. Then I tried the light blue one and that worked well for about a year with the application of olive oil to help unscrew later for washing. Eventually it too became impossible to unscrew. As unfortunate as this is, I still keep buying them because they accomplish exactly what I need by providing a delicious award for the otherwise unlikable departure of my dog’s human.

My dogs love these! This gives them a dedicated 20-40min of dog joy. They often get up halfway thru and switch but whatever makes them happy. They do get STUCK! And can be impossible to open. I now use a dot of olive oil on each level of the screw and then twist it in and out a couple times to distribute the lube so its possible to open when they are done. I find it very important to collect them immediately when they are done and open back up for cleaning. Do not let them dry as it will be very difficult to open.

I got a knock off one of these originally and man I should have just stuck with the real thing. My dog destroyed the other one in about 4 seconds. My dog loves this one and has not been able to tear it up, he prefers to just push it around after he gets all the treat out of it which is hilarious to watch. The quality is amazing and it is so easy to clean without leaving a smelly odor on it. It fits in my freezer perfectly and also is soft but firm so I do not have to worry about my dog hurting his teeth. For reference I have an Aussie and I got the large one which is perfect for his size (60lbs). My pet prefers this one over the last one for sure since this one actually keeps him entertained.

It has lasted 9 months so far and my lab still loves it! I got the size small intending to get a large later, but she really loves things she can carry around in her mouth. I recommend unscrewing the toy soon after your dog finishes their pupsicle because it can be difficult to unscrew if you let it dry. When it’s hot out I freeze some kibble and water so she can have as many as she wants, but her favorite is pumpkin puree.

Now that we are empty nesters we got a puppy and began spoiling her like crazy. These pupsicles are so nice for making healthy treats for our girl. I have purchased three, so we always have a clean one ready. One of them is very hard to open, but overall this was a great purchase and making healthy treats with natural peanut butter, bananas, cottage cheese, etc. is saving tons of $$$. These also keeps a rambunctious puppy busy for about twenty minutes.

this is my second purchase as my first pupsicle got stuck and would not open. tried all of the “hacks” with olive oil, soap, hot water, etc. and could not get it open.i also have the pupscile freeze tray which i love to make my own to put in there. great way to keep the pup busy!

I purchased the Large green one on our store. This thing is almost impossible to use. Somehow the part that you remove to insert the treat is too large or the treads aren’t right and it is incredibly difficult to get the back part in or out. I’ve had to bang it on the counter, soak it in hot water, tried to use a wrench once, and I still couldn’t get it open/closed. It’s just really difficult to screw it in or out. That being said, the local pet store had these on an endcap and I thought, “absolutely not!” but decided to see if they all have the same issue. I picked up a L purple one and the back insert twisted in and out easily with no issues so I decided to purchase another one. So far the purple seems okay, but I’ve only had it a couple days . My dog does love the treats I make her and I like that she has to lick it slowly so it helps with her regurgitation issues (Canine Megaesophagus). I guess I’d say that, this is a good item, if you get one that works. If yours arrives and is nearly impossible to twist the back in or out, return it immediately and try again.

Better than a Kong in many ways. It’s much easier to clean, and I love that I can make and freeze multiple portions at once instead of preparing them individually. That said, the advertised 20-minute enrichment time wasn’t accurate for my dog. My 45 lb Aussiedoodle can finish a frozen Pupsicle in about 5 minutes, while a stuffed Kong keeps her busy for around 10 minutes. She enjoys it, but it doesn’t seem mentally or physically tiring for her after she’s done.Overall, it’s convenient, easy to use, and great for frozen treats, but don’t expect it to last as long as advertised if you have a determined chewer.

I have nothing but great things to say about this product it is a 10/10!! We have an 8 month old labradoodle puppy and this has quickly become his favorite toy. My parents purchased the product for their dogs as well and it has equally risen to the toy of choice in their household as well. Our puppy, Ozzy, will go at this for an hour+ which has been amazing as someone who works from home. This has become an easy option if I have to take a Zoom meeting or he’s being crazy to give back an hour of focused work time. He was just neutered and has been uncomfortable with his cone and adjusting to pain meds / not sleeping through the night – the fix? This toy. Immediately this focuses and settles him and he couldn’t be happier. We’re on our second because he did a fair amount of damage to the first after a few months of use but I do not say that as any note to the products quality, this dog can chew through anything and this toy has outlasted every other in our household. Instant re-order. Will be gifting to any new dog owners in my life!!

I never knew I needed these until I got my new puppy, Raven. Golden and Aussie mix, she’s beautiful, cuddly, and her behavior is a bit over the top. We’re working with a new trainer, who taught me there is no need to feed her in a bowl. Instead, make it creative and mentally stimulating. So I bought 2 of these in XL – she’s already 60 pounds at 7 months. We start with kibble hunt spread around the kitchen in different hiding places. Then I give her both pupsicles filled with her frozen wet food. Now, instead of 2 minutes to inhale her food, it takes her 1 hour & 32 minutes. 45 each for the pupsicles and 2 for kibble hunt. It’s fun to watch her run around to find the kibble, so it’s entertaining for both of us! Only one downside – the first two I bought, green and pink, are extremely hard to unscrew. I started spraying all of the threads on both parts with olive oil and that helps immensely. Don’t let them sit around and dry, it’s even harder to open them after they dry out. But! I bought the red and blue one from the manufacturers site and that is extremely easy to open. Does not stick at all, I still spray them, but what a difference! If anyone from Woof is reading this, can you change all of the colors to that same material??

The limit is only as wide as your brain. We fill ours with all sorts of things for my girl and she absolutely loves them. She is an eight-year-old Vila who is known for being able to destroy things. But she is a soft mouth dog so she isn’t as capable as some other breeds, but we recently moved to southern Utah where June has already been well into the triple digits, so keeping her entertained inside and also cool has been a bit of a trick. She’s loved me freezing bone broth and other treats for her to look at when it’s too hot to play outside. It does have some teeth marks, but has lasted longer than a lot of others. Plus I love how much easier it is to clean than a lot of other brands because it un twists it. It’s easy to take a bottle brush and really scrub it out well. She prefers frozen treats as opposed to peanut butter or other sorts. I definitely would recommend getting the mold and just making your own as it ends up being much cheaper and they’re just as good if not better.
